We are looking for a Controls and Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Havant. Do you have experience servicing and repairing electrical equipment? Or have you recently completed studies or an apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering and are looking to take the next step in your career as a Controls and Maintenance Engineer?

In this role, you will be responsible for technical support for service and internal customers, maintain chromatography systems, diagnose complex technical issues, and conduct electrical fault finding with support from the field engineering team. This position is full-time and based at our Havant site with hybrid working available. There is a requirement for international travel up to 20%.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide repair and maintenance support, diagnose complex technical issues, configure systems, and conduct electrical fault finding on systems both in the factory and at customer sites.
  • Support projects pre-FAT, FAT, installation, and SAT.
  • Assist customers in using systems, troubleshooting directly with them either remotely or on-site.
  • Liaise with software houses, R&D, engineering, and application teams to resolve technical problems related to systems.
  • Train individuals 1 to 1 on the systems either on customer sites or in the factory at the Havant site.
  • Provide problem descriptions on hardware and automation including root cause analysis.
  • Implement the software bench test together with the Process Application department.
  • Install industrial software on target hardware and support the QA department in commissioning and qualification at FAT.
  • Document hardware and software errors during commissioning.
  • Organise software back-ups and updates.
  • Travel to customer sites occasionally.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
What will convince us:
  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering/Electromechanics or Engineering Apprenticeship complete with supporting qualification.
  • Service/Maintenance engineering experience in a manufacturing/production environment or servicing, repairing domestic appliances or industrial machinery/systems (electrical bias).
  • Keen to step into working in controls engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding and diagnosing technical issues related to software.
  • Understanding PLC systems for troubleshooting/diagnostic.
  • Experience in delivering service to customers and communicating effectively.
  • High accuracy in technical writing.
  • Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel.
