Local Government Close Down Accountant Your new company Local government based in government Your new role Interim Senior Accountant – Close down 6 Months Inside IR35 2 days on site What you'll need to succeed Our Local Government client is seeking an experienced Interim Close Down Accountant to assist with the closure of accounts for the 2024/25 financial year. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS16 legislation.Key Responsibilities: Lead the account close down process Prepare and submit statutory returns Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy Provide training and support to senior managers Requirements: Previous experience of closure/preparation of accounts within local governments Understanding and experience with IFRS16 legislation CIPFA/CIMA qualification preferred Experience working alongside the audit process for account preparation Additional Information: Contract duration: 6 months If you are an experienced accountant with a strong background in Local Government and are available for an interim role, we would love to hear from you!
