Chadwick Nott has longstanding relationships spanning over 20 years with leading boutique City and West End law firms. These firms often excel in quality of work, profitability, and earning potential, and are interested in talented senior associates (minimum 8 PQE) with existing client followings who are ambitious to build significant practices.
The level of client following sought will depend on remuneration; our clients are looking in the £300-500k range and will want to understand why clients will follow you. At this stage, you are near partnership at your current firm, but partnership may not be achievable or may be 1-2 years away due to external factors.
The emphasis on a client following is because these firms are expanding and value strong business development and relationship-building skills. These roles are not solely 'book of business' hires; you will also work on existing client bases and may be involved in succession planning.
Successful candidates will have at least 8 years PQE gained within a UK City or West End law firm and must be qualified solicitors in England & Wales. You might currently work at a boutique firm or a Top 50 City or US law firm, seeking a more entrepreneurial platform, confident that your clients follow you based on your personal brand rather than institutional clients.
I can provide extensive guidance on building a business case and business planning, and act as a sounding board for lawyers with this level of client following assessing whether to pursue immediate partnership or stay at their current firm.
