The mission of the Data Protection Service (DPS) group is to implement the Firm's Data Cybersecurity Strategy by architecting, engineering, deploying, and operating technical data security controls and capabilities for the Enterprise. This is achieved by continued focus on architectural rigor, automation, Agile delivery, and adoption of Data Protection Services' control implementations by our users and partners.
As a DLP squad member you will be involved in the service delivery and development of key DLP infrastructure and controls across the Morgan Stanley organization. You will be delivering operational and engineering services while working closely with wider Technology groups, stakeholders & our 3rd party vendors.
What will you be doing?
- You will work with the DLP squad supporting Engineering & Operational tasks involved in data security services, ranging from service delivery, task automation, DevOps tasks and supporting an on-call rota.
- Working with the DLP squad & wider Technology stakeholders, you will support the continuous improvement of our services through the development of automation scripting and effective observability solutions.
- You will be supporting the rapid prototyping of various tools, technologies, and their new capabilities, aligning to business requirements.
- Working with Technology teams, you will onboard new tools to support business needs and integrate with the Morgan Stanley eco system.
- Across the DLP squad and stakeholder groups, you will participate in design and code reviews.
- You will deliver knowledge sharing across our global Data Protection squads & chapters, providing documentation, presentations, and internal postings.
What we're looking for:
- Must have:
- Scripting: Python, PowerShell or similar
- DevOps: Git, CI/CD Pipeline, Test Automation
- OS: Linux, Windows, macOS (optional)
- Networking: network configuration and debugging
- Security Practices: Knowledge of critical cyber security controls
- DLP: Symantec DLP, Microsoft DLP, Netskope DLP
- Cloud: Azure, M365, AWS, etc.
- Orchestration: IaC, Containerisation, etc.
- Database: Oracle, MSSQL, SQLite
- Data Handling: Splunk, Microsoft Dynamics, Hive
Professional Skills:
- Experience working within Agile teams.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITIL).
- Ability to quickly learn and understand proprietary technologies in a complex, regulated environment.
- Self-starter with proven & demonstrable experience in technical & application support of enterprise systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with a collaborative approach.
Where will you be working?
This role is based at our Glasgow office on Waterloo Street in the city centre. Hybrid working (3 days per week onsite requirement).
