Woking and Sam Beare Hospice is a regional charity organisation working closely with its NHS partners to provide excellent care to patients and their families. Operating from a bespoke building in Goldsworth Park in Woking, the Charity provides inpatient and community services across Northwest Surrey. Goldsworth Park is close to all major road networks and the Hospice offers ample free car parking.

You will be joining a passionate and dedicated team of professionals that make a real difference to families across the Surrey community. An exciting opportunity has arisen at Woking and Sam Beare Hospice for a Registered Nurse to join our friendly community specialist palliative care/Hospice at Home team. The team delivers and continues to develop palliative care services for people facing progressive and life-limiting conditions across our catchment area in Northwest Surrey.

Our community team consists of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Associate Clinical Nurse Specialists, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Specialist Doctors. We work closely alongside our therapy team, which includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Assistants. All our patients and carers have access to counselling services and the Wellbeing unit. The hospice also has a 20-bed Inpatient Unit. The ability to travel in your own car to visit patients at home is essential.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Nurse who is patient-focused and passionate about palliative care. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with patients and staff at all levels are essential.

The hospice is dedicated to staff development and progression opportunities. The team will mentor, invest, develop, teach, and help the candidate to achieve their goals along their development journey.

In return for your skills, you can expect to join a caring multidisciplinary team working in a beautiful Hospice in the heart of Northwest Surrey. Our vision is to enable all those with life-limiting illnesses to live life to the full and to equip them to die with choice and dignity.

The role is part-time, 22.5 hours per week, requiring participation in a rota covering a 7-day per week service.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such, it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
