The role is offered on a hybrid basis, 2 days a week in their Midlands Head Office.
About the Role
As the Software Product Owner, you will be responsible for managing the product roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality releases, and continuously enhancing the product to deliver real business value. You will act as the bridge between clients and the engineering team, prioritising features, resolving issues, and driving the product forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Focus: Understand client businesses and the challenges they face.
- Product Strategy: Collaborate with the CTO to align the product roadmap with business goals and client needs.
- Value-Driven Development: Ensure development efforts deliver measurable value and support product growth.
- Release Management: Decide on release content and timelines, ensuring quality and delivery standards are met.
- Team Collaboration: Translate requirements into actionable features and work closely with the engineering team.
- Backlog Management: Prioritise the product backlog, balancing new features, technical debt, and bug fixes.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Use data and client feedback to refine the product and improve user experience.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain clear documentation for features, releases, and issue resolutions.
- Client Support: Serve as the primary escalation point for client issues, coordinating with engineering to resolve them.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in software development.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.
- Experience in resolving customer issues and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage roadmaps, backlogs, and software releases effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Desirable:
- Experience with SaaS platforms and cloud-based solutions.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Experience working in a small business or start-up environment.
