We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our client’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team as an Operational and Resilience Risk Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping and overseeing the organisation's capital risk framework, ensuring that capital management behaviours align with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite. You will work closely with finance, treasury, risk management, and other key stakeholders to support informed decision-making and risk governance.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain our client’s capital risk management framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal risk appetite.
  • Establish and maintain capital risk policies, procedures, and standards that guide capital management behaviours across the organisation.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the framework to respond to evolving regulatory requirements, market conditions, and organisational strategies.
  • Lead the assessment of capital adequacy, ensuring sufficient capital buffers to absorb potential losses under stress scenarios.
  • Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) related to capital management and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
  • Analyse scenario assessments and stress test results, developing recommendations for mitigating identified risks.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • In-depth understanding of capital risk management principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, influencing and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in risk management software and financial modelling tools.

The base location for this role is in Birmingham/Sheffield/Edinburgh, with a hybrid working pattern.
