A great opportunity for an ambitious FM Procurement Category Manager to support the growth of a greenfield procurement function within an exciting and innovative organisation. We are partnering with a world-class innovation and research centre embarking on an exciting growth journey. The Procurement Category Manager for Facilities Services is a newly created position within a greenfield procurement team. You will support the Head of Procurement and the wider team in delivering first-class procurement activities, developing robust category strategies, and establishing processes across the group.
You will take ownership of the FM category and supplier management for both Hard and Soft services, as well as Laboratory Equipment and Services. We seek candidates experienced in building category strategies from scratch and implementing them across organisations. You will manage a varied and expanding estate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an ambitious mindset, capable of working in an agile environment, and excited by the prospect of supporting a greenfield team’s growth and development with their skills and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- At least 8 years’ procurement experience, with significant focus on Facilities Management sourcing.
- Experience managing procurement activities for laboratory equipment and related services within an FM context.
- A proven track record in leading complex procurement projects and delivering measurable value.
- Familiarity with working in highly regulated industries (e.g., Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Research) is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Facilities Management, or a related field (Master’s degree desirable).
- MCIPS qualification or active pursuit of full membership is highly desirable.
Our client has ambitious growth plans for the next three years, including a new state-of-the-art campus under construction and headcount growth from hundreds to thousands by 2027. Based in Oxford, the role requires on-site presence three days a week, and candidates must have the right to work permanently in the UK.
