At the Aztec Group, our technology is a core component of our award-winning outsourced solutions. We are seeking a Specialist Data Product Engineer to join our Data Platform team and support Aztec's new technology strategy, focusing on Alteryx Designer & Server. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting Alteryx solutions across the Group. The candidate will provide technical guidance, evaluate requirements, develop artifacts, and maintain design documents. Under the supervision of an experienced manager and with ongoing professional development, the successful candidate will become a vital member of the Data Platform team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support business users in Alteryx development.
  • Develop workflows and analytics solutions using best practices, including data querying, parsing, analysis, and automation.
  • Evaluate requirements, create technical design documents, and follow Agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contractors to develop Alteryx workflows.
  • Monitor and optimize solution performance and contribute to process improvements.
  • Deploy new solutions or update existing ones in line with Change Management Framework.
  • Ensure compliance with Information Security and Data Governance standards.
  • Promote best practices, provide training, share knowledge, and offer first-line support to users.
  • Translate business requirements into prototypes.
  • Manage the UAT environment and support Citizen Designers.
  • Maintain and update technical knowledge of Alteryx through professional development.

Skills, knowledge, and expertise:

  • Alteryx Designer Core Certified.
  • Experience developing and supporting automated workflows in Alteryx Designer.
  • Experience deploying workflows to the Production Gallery.
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals, data design, SQL, and data warehouse concepts is beneficial.
  • Exposure to PowerBI, Databricks, Azure, and Profisee is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Json, Python, XML, and R is a plus.
  • Experience with non-relational and unstructured data is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub within an Agile framework is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to interpret business requirements and produce technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience in Financial Services or financial reporting is a plus.
