Access Talent Group are currently working with a Multi-disciplinary Civil Engineering consultancy. They are currently organically growing their Transportation team, over four offices working collaboratively. They are currently looking for a Transport Planner / Senior Transport Planner to work alongside the team in Bristol. Reporting to an Associate Director, you will have the opportunity to lead your own projects and/or work within multidisciplinary teams on larger proposals to administer, produce and deliver projects effectively to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining high technical performance standards.
Responsibilities:
- To work as part of a team delivering high quality transport planning, modelling and technical reports, and (where necessary) engineering designs/drawings.
- To comply with Company Health & Safety policies at all times.
- Supervision of staff, review, check and approve design calculations, drawings and outputs prepared by others.
- Project administration, including preparation of fee proposals and production of all outputs in accordance with the Company’s document management systems.
- Client & Local Authority Liaison.
- To develop and maintain high technical standards both personally and within the T&T Department through application of current industry “best practice” and new technical innovations.
- To develop and maintain an effective network of Client contacts.
- Ensure delivery of high quality and profitable T&T services to Clients and where possible resolve operational, technical and financial issues in collaboration with other relevant senior staff.
In addition to the above, a successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a number of competencies, as detailed below.
Candidate Profile:
- High level of technical competence, including advanced knowledge of key transport software packages such as Junctions 9 (PICADY/ARCADY), LinSig, TRICS, TEMPro/NTEM.
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills – advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and awareness of Census data sources/analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of national/local design standards e.g. DMRB, MFS 1 & 2, CIHT Policies/Guidance, Local Authority Design Guides e.g. 6C’s.
- Excellent report writing – advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Excellent knowledge of the English planning system and workings of Local Government.
- Experienced user of AutoCAD & vehicle tracking software.
- Health & Safety awareness – CDM regulations.
- Staff management, team working & communication skills.
