Key Responsibilities
- Promote high values for people in daily practice, i.e., choice, privacy, individuality, dignity, etc. This includes providing personal care according to service users’ support plans in a sensitive manner and helping individuals make decisions about their lives by working within the guidelines of the Association’s person-centred approach.
- Enable people to receive appropriate health care and advice when necessary.
- Create opportunities for individuals to develop and expand their social, educational, and leisure networks.
- Assist and support people with daily living activities such as laundry, cleaning, cooking, shopping, etc.
- Follow agreed support plans with the individual.
- Communicate effectively, using different methods suitable to people's needs.
- Respect confidentiality and adhere to policy guidelines.
- Work as part of a team, actively participating in meetings, sharing ideas, and contributing to decisions.
- Lone working when necessary.
Operational
- Follow and implement the Association's and scheme’s policies and procedures at all times.
- Carry out administrative tasks related to the role and daily requirements.
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the home.
- Liaise with other professionals as required.
- Work within the framework laid down by the CQC.
Additional Duties
- Hightown operates a non-smoking policy. Smoking is not permitted in any tenant or Association property. Service users' cooperation may be sought to encourage them not to smoke in their homes.
Requirements
- An enhanced DBS check is required; Hightown will cover the cost.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence with access to a car. Only apply if you have a UK driving licence.
- Any other reasonable duties consistent with the responsibilities of this post as agreed with the line manager.
