The Role
As a Maritime Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial part in enhancing QinetiQ’s ability to deliver innovative and safe maritime solutions, ensuring operational excellence for military and commercial clients while maintaining compliance with stringent safety regulations and environmental standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining Safety and Environmental Management Plans for maritime projects
- Facilitating Hazard Identification sessions and estimating risks associated with various systems
- Creating and updating hazard logs to track safety issues and mitigation strategies
- Assisting in the planning and execution of trials to demonstrate safe equipment use
- Working closely with project managers and engineers to provide safety engineering insights and solutions
- Writing comprehensive safety case reports and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Essential experience of the Maritime Safety Engineer:
- Relevant experience within Safety Engineering, project management, or technical roles within similar industries
- Regulatory compliance knowledge
Essential qualifications for the Maritime Safety Engineer:
- Engineering Degree or Equivalent
