TXM Recruit is seeking a skilled Multi Skilled Engineer to perform a variety of tasks across all properties within the business.
Position Details:
- Location: Newmarket
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8-4 or 9-5) with plenty of overtime available
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, generators, and related machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of mechanical systems.
- Respond quickly to emergency repair requests, minimising downtime and disruptions to estate operations.
- Collaborate with team members, contractors, and external service providers to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and installations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment maintenance logs, and inventory management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in mechanical engineering to apply innovative solutions.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in planning and executing capital improvement projects, including equipment upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and system enhancements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other staff members as needed.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (such as ONC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering)
- Suitable multi-skilled apprenticeship
- Proven experience in mechanical/electrical role, preferably in a facilities management or estate environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Personal Attributes:
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts for emergency repairs or special projects.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various locations within the estate as needed.
