About the role
Reporting to the Director of Environment & Sustainability, the main purpose of the role is to:
- Ensure appropriate management and leadership of all environmental and social sustainability aspects relevant to Business Unit projects and the wider business.
- Lead technical elements associated with the UK Environment and Sustainability Strategy and ensure implementation across divisions.
- Oversee tasks aligned with achieving client, programme, and strategy objectives.
- Manage sustainability matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support strategic leadership on environmental sustainability, shaping the UK Environment & Sustainability strategy, and promoting awareness and upskilling within teams.
- Oversee resourcing, recruitment, and succession planning for project sustainability teams.
Qualifications
- Degree qualification or equivalent experience, Full Member of IEMA (or similar), CEnv.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel.
- Leadership qualifications.
- Over 10 years of sustainability management experience in large infrastructure projects or similar industries.
- Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams in complex organizations.
- Experience managing both corporate and operational sustainability initiatives.
- Strategic mindset with excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
