The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.

The Records Management Specialist will work closely with the Records Management Programme team and the divisional records coordinators to support the remediation of the immediate gaps identified in our critical records management whilst also providing recommendations and technical expertise to shape a set of strategic actions. Note that this role does not entail active management of physical records.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead on remediation of the immediate gaps identified as part of my client’s critical records management review.
  • Review current process and classification taxonomy and address gaps.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on best practices in Records Management.
  • Ensure there is a clear definition of key records to be stored in my clients archive, identify where these records are stored, and conduct risk assessments in divisions to monitor compliance.
  • Develop and execute a communications plan around current process.
  • Provide guidance and support to records coordinators within the business.
  • Identify and define the key roles required for good records management. Ensure alignment with existing roles (e.g. archives, data governance owners and stewards etc.).

Required skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of UK laws and regulations that govern the access to, management and retention of data, including practical experience of working in a role closely aligned to the remit of this role.
  • Working knowledge of electronic records management principles, standards and systems.
  • Experience managing an effective records retention schedule in a large organisation.
  • Experience of implementing projects and change in relation to how an organisation manages its information assets.
  • Excellent IT and digital skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills including ability to translate technical requirements into simple and clear language.
  • Ability to raise awareness of good information governance amongst all organisational levels including the ability to be persuasive and determined.
