Newton Colmore have partnered with an exciting start-up in Birmingham who are looking for a senior assay development scientist to join their fledgling team. Upon joining the company, the Assay Development Scientist, reporting directly to the Head of R&D, you will be part of the scientific R&D team, working towards the development and evaluation of rapid in vitro diagnostics tools as the company undertake development and transfer to manufacture activities.

You will work across standard and next-generation technologies, collaborating with other science and engineering teams to support Assay and device integration activities and generate performance evaluation data. You will be contributing to experimental planning, system improvement and product development in addition to providing support and advice to fellow scientists and engineers.

To be considered for this exciting role you will need to have the following:

  • Hands-on, commercial experience with the in vitro diagnostics field.
  • Ideally educated to PhD level but we will consider Master’s level candidates.
  • Experience and knowledge of molecular biology techniques including RT and qRT-PCR, nucleic acid extraction and quantification.
