TE Energy, a division of TE Connectivity, is a global supplier to the Power Utilities and Power Industry customers, equipment manufacturers, and transport systems. With nearly 4,000 employees, we have sales representatives in over 80 countries and manufacturing sites on five continents. TE Connectivity offers an Undergraduate Intern Program with the Energy R&D Materials Group based in Swindon UK.

Working with minimal supervision in the analysis, selection, processing, and testing of polymers with the appropriate electrical, mechanical, chemical, and environmental properties for various applications within the Power Industry. You will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment. This internship offers a valuable opportunity for aspiring engineers to develop their skills and contribute to real-world projects.

We are seeking an Engineering Intern to join our team in JULY 2025 for a 12-month period.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on materials testing and processing
  • Compounding and development of new material formulations (running small-scale compounding machines, moulding, etc.)
  • Material characterisation including physical, electrical, and chemical testing in test lab specialised fire testing
  • Failure analysis
  • Manufacturing and product management support
  • Coordination with the Analytical Dept and Materials QC lab
  • Technical report and procedure writing
  • Communication with our other Engineers in EMEA, US, and China
What your background should look like:
  • Must have completed 2 years of a relevant Engineering course such as Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Sports Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, etc. with material modules.
  • 3 or more science/engineering-based A/AS levels (A-C grades)
  • Hands-on Laboratory Experience
  • Full proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools
  • Ability to work as a Team
