Role Overview: We’re seeking a passionate and creative UX designer to join our Firesprite studio to craft and evolve a AAA user experience for a story-driven 'Narrative Adventure' with genre-defining goals. This ambitious project focuses on atmosphere, storytelling, player agency, and immersion on next-generation hardware technologies. The ideal candidate will design intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences across all aspects of the game, working closely with game design, UI art, code, and accessibility teams to ensure the game is engaging, fun, and easy to navigate. As a Principal, you will be the key knowledge holder for UX systems across gameplay, cinematic, and narrative areas. Preference is for individuals to be based in the studio 1-3 days per week, but remote work within the UK may be considered.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative UX solutions.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and interaction designs for in-game UI systems.
  • Conduct user research, accessibility, and usability testing to gather feedback and improve designs.
  • Analyze data and player behavior to identify friction points and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Document and communicate design solutions clearly across teams.
  • Stay updated with UX trends in gaming to push creative boundaries.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experienced Principal UX Designer or Senior Designer ready to advance.
  • Understanding of player psychology and user-centered design principles.
  • Proficiency with Unreal Engine or similar tools.
  • Passion for prioritizing user experience.
  • Ability to blend cinematography and UX into a core value.
  • Strong team collaboration and problem-solving initiative.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
