The Construction & Engineering Team
Our client’s Construction & Engineering team is one of the most respected in the regions, with strong recognition in legal directories including Chambers UK and Legal 500. The team is now expanding its presence in London under the leadership of a dedicated partner based in the capital. The team advises a wide array of clients across both contentious and non-contentious construction matters. Their client base includes public sector bodies such as local authorities, NHS Trusts, and educational institutions, as well as private sector developers, contractors, consultants, and funders. Team members bring experience from a range of high-profile City, national and regional firms, contributing to a collaborative and dynamic working environment. There is a strong emphasis on career development, mentoring, and clear pathways for progression.
The transactional practice spans advising on standard form contracts such as JCT, NEC, FIDIC, and PFI/PPP agreements, as well as drafting bespoke agreements. On the contentious side, the team handles a high volume of construction disputes, with experience in litigation, adjudication, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution. Much of the contentious work is concentrated in London, the M25 corridor, East and South East England, with growing international opportunities in arbitration.
The Role
We are seeking an Associate or Senior Associate with the ideal candidate having between 3 and 10 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) gained at a respected City, national, regional, or international firm.
- Key experience should include some or all of the following:
- Advising on disputes arising under key standard form construction contracts, including JCT, NEC, etc.
- Representing clients in adjudication, litigation, and/or arbitration.
- Knowledge of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team with exposure to high-profile and complex matters.
