Role Overview:

As Chairperson, you will lead with vision, steering the CISRS Quality Assurance Committee to ensure robust governance, strategic excellence and collaborative success. You’ll inspire meaningful dialogue, guide critical decisions, and champion the committee’s mission to uphold world-class training standards, reporting directly to the CISRS Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspire leadership by setting the strategic direction for the Committee.
  • Chair engaging, impactful meetings with clear agendas.
  • Foster fair, inclusive decision-making, ensuring quorum and consensus.
  • Cast the deciding vote in tiebreakers with confidence and clarity.
  • Act as the Committee’s ambassador, delivering compelling reports to the CISRS Board.
  • Drive the creation and review of dynamic annual reports and updates.
  • Strategically expand the Committee by inviting key members or observers.

Skills & Experience:

  • Academic leadership at minimum department head of a non-aligned vocational centre (not construction or associated sector) for a minimum of two years.
  • Working knowledge of funding and approval processes including DFE, IfATE / Skills for England and all other devolved authorities.
  • Exceptional leadership and facilitation skills to inspire and unite diverse stakeholders.
  • Expertise in quality assurance, training, or assessment within vocational learning.
  • Unwavering commitment to impartiality, fairness, and the highest ethical standards.
