Collection Manager: Storage and Moves – London Join to apply for the Collection Manager: Storage and Moves – London role at TieTalent Full-time, 41 hours per week (including one hour paid lunch break) Fixed term (until 31 October 2026) Application deadline: 12pm (midday) on 27 May 2025 About The Role To lead and manage a team of Assistant Collection Managers to deliver documentation, packing, and decant projects as part of a major storage move project, with a particular focus on Oceania. Key Responsibilities Manage a team of Assistant Collection Managers to deliver projects that move and improve care and access to collections in storage. Collaborate with the project team, curators, collections managers, and conservators to support planning and execution of documentation, packing, and decant projects. Provide expert advice to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Contribute to practical design and fit-out plans for new storage facilities. Manage security, audit, and documentation processes related to the collection. Plan, coordinate, and deliver training, including skill-sharing sessions. About You GCSEs or equivalent qualification Interest in the British Museum’s collections Understanding of materials and objects Experience in object or art handling and collections care in a museum or similar environment Ability to manage and motivate a team Budget and resource management skills Strong prioritization, planning, and organizational skills Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team About The British Museum Founded in 1753, the British Museum’s collection spans over two million years of human history and culture.
