Job Purpose:
To assist the Team Leader / Warehouse Manager in the day to day running of the stores. You will be involved in maintaining the stores areas, efficiently and accurately while continuing to help with the booking in process, allocation and dispatch of goods to our production team and end customers. Ensuring the highest possible standards are set. Due to the locations of stock and the weights and length of some of our materials you will require a Reach truck licence, Side truck loader licence and a Counterbalance forklift truck licence up to 10 ton, as well as good PC skills.
Job Context:
Working in a Logistics team as part of the UK Logistics effort to ensure completion of internal and external customer orders are facilitated and completed to meet monthly targets. As a Logistics team member, you will engage across all business sectors to ensure challenges are flagged and controlled to maintain compliance at all levels. Continuous Personal Development (CPD) is catered for to ensure individual and company needs are met.
Job Dimensions:
This is a role based in Thame with standard hours of 14:30 – 23:00 Monday to Thursday and 11:00 – 16:00 on Fridays.
Key Accountabilities:
- Goods Inwards:
- Ensure that stock is safely and accurately received; any damages to be raised through relevant stakeholders.
- Purchase orders are accurately controlled inwards and clearly identifiable with all discrepancies challenged or flagged.
- Ensure all red channel and customer support incident (CSI’s) items are robustly managed & controlled with communication through the Quality department.
- Control daily dispatching activities and ensure dispatch accuracy through to collection.
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly provided prior to dispatch; this includes courier related systems.
- Inform Sales of all discrepancies as identified and work towards solution.
- Arrange and manage transport when required and observe special requirements and instructions.
- All Inter-Company shipping activities from container safe loading through to documentation and system closure.
- Ensure products conform as required.
- Ensure manufactured goods are safely and accurately received, logged and processed through to storage and visibility on current IT systems.
- Ensure stock is correctly marked up and correctly located.
- Inform operations team as discrepancies and issues are observed.
- Communicate through procurement channels when stocks are low or below minimum level.
- Run independent checks on stock items and coordinate throughout team.
- Carry out a full investigation and report through Warehouse Manager as discrepancies found.
- Update inventory record with 100% of findings and ensure journal postings reflect.
- To be the team / department escalation point in the first instance for all daily queries.
- Assist in accessing team workloads allocating resource to the areas required.
- Identify internal and external training requirements for the stores team members and discuss with the Warehouse Manager.
- Provide solutions and suggestions to the team and Warehouse Manager on any daily issues.
- Communicate with the production team identifying any potential issues at the earliest opportunity and discuss with the Warehouse Manager when required.
- To deputise for the Assistant Warehouse Manager during periods of holiday, sickness or other.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Good understanding of H&S and practical applications.
- Microsoft Office proficient; in particular, Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent).
- Good level of people management.
- Ability to drive all MHE within logistics environment.
- Competent in all logistical software applications (RF Smart, VML).
- Competent in all logistical machines and tools.
