Are you a stress analysis specialist ready to step into a high-impact role supporting the UK's most critical infrastructure? We're hiring a Senior Stress Engineer to join a leading engineering team based on-site in Derby. This is a full-time, staff position working 5 days per week on site — no hybrid working — supporting advanced projects in the defence and nuclear sectors.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering structural integrity substantiations via FEA and code-based assessments
  • Supporting peer reviews and technical documentation
  • Modelling and analysis using ABAQUS (explicit/implicit), Python scripting a plus
  • Applying standards including ASME B&PVC, R6, and ideally RCC-M
  • Providing defect tolerance and fatigue/fracture analysis
  • Working within quality and time budgets, contributing to bids as required

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in fatigue, fracture, and thermal stress assessments
  • Nuclear or defence background preferred, though other regulated sectors considered
  • Competence in ABAQUS/CAE or similar tools
  • Familiarity with CRACKEN or equivalent
  • UK sole nationality and eligibility for security clearance
