About the Role:

We’re working with a respected engineering company in Lowestoft that is looking to grow its design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior-level candidate with a working knowledge of SolidWorks to gain valuable experience and grow within a supportive and skilled engineering environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Junior Mechanical Design Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the design and drafting team. You’ll work on real mechanical projects, producing high-quality 2D and 3D models using SolidWorks, assisting with documentation, and learning from experienced professionals along the way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and edit 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks
  • Assist in updating and maintaining technical documentation and design files
  • Support the generation of bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly guides
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers during project development
  • Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure all documentation is kept current in the internal database

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience using SolidWorks (academic projects, internships, or previous work)
  • Good understanding of mechanical design principles
