This role provides governance, oversight and monitoring of procurement and vendor management activities. It offers the opportunity to work with most areas of the business and work with the wider Toyota group.
As a business that provides its services through third party partners, the procurement function is integral to providing guidance and oversight of all procurement and vendor management activities to the whole business. This function sits within the legal, risk and compliance department which is a collaborative, forward thinking and friendly team.
What you'll be doing:
- Working with business area leaders to understand existing processes and evaluating compliance.
- Providing governance, oversight and monitoring of the vendor management processes.
- Seeking to establish effective and consistent onboarding processes for all suppliers.
- Developing and enhancing the supplier evaluation and due diligence process.
- Adopting the One Trust Vendor Management Module across the business and acting as platform owner.
- Understanding where the business should tender for suppliers.
- Evaluating the varied methods of procurement and seeking to align and/or establish consistency.
- Implementing risk management processes into vendor management.
- Developing and executing purchasing strategies that ensure cost-effective sourcing.
- Implementing strategies to reduce waste and optimise sub-contractor performance.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry standards and relevant regulations.
- Identifying opportunities for streamlined purchasing throughout the UK Toyota Group.
- Providing regular reporting and updates on supply chain activities.
- Implementing a procurement monitoring programme.
- Chairing the Vendor Management Working Group.
- Establishing and coordinating a vendor management training programme in the business.

You will be able to influence the way in which we procure and will be able to significantly contribute towards improving efficiencies and reducing spend.

Requirements
Key Experience & Skills:
- Procurement experience in a diverse range of sectors.
- Track record of supplier process oversight and driving cost efficiencies.
- The ability to visualise and assist the business in materialising a sound, compliant, effective procurement function.
- Sound commercial and contracts acumen.
- Multi-stakeholder management experience.
- Supplier performance management experience - improving relationships and focusing on operational delivery.
- CIPS qualification desirable but not essential. If not held, a desire to achieve further qualifications.
