The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the continual maintenance and repair of facilities owned and operated by the Town of Abingdon. The Technician must be able to manage, prioritize, and complete tasks independently, and work with contractors as needed. The Technician should have general working knowledge of HVAC, carpentry and finishing work, plumbing, and electrical. Experience in construction and maintenance field is required. A degree or certification from a technical school is preferred.

- Ability to plan and manage projects under the direction of the Foreman
- Must have the ability to lift 60 lbs. and climb onto ladders and/or scaffolding
- Working knowledge of current construction methods, materials, tools and equipment
