We are looking for a motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with young people and families to join our inpatient CAMHS team. You will help deliver person-centred care to young people with a variety of mental health needs, including those with neurodevelopmental conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and develop the occupational therapy provision within a supportive and progressive team.

- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with a recognised degree
- Experience in mental health settings, ideally with children and adolescents

Main duties of the job
- Provide specialist OT assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Develop and deliver individual and group treatment plans
- Collaborate with the MDT and families in care planning and discharge
- Help develop the CAMHS OT service
- Supervise junior and support staff, and coordinate OT clinical workload
- Participate in regular clinical and managerial supervision

Person Specification
- HCPC Registration
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent, relevant postgraduate courses and in-service training
- Post-graduate training in Sensory Integration
- Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
- Membership of BAOT
Experience
- Variety of general and relevant experience
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of working within a Mental Health setting
- Experience of running groups
- Experience of working within CAMHS and/or inpatient mental health services
- Experience of working with people with eating disorders
- Experience of working with/assessing young people with autism spectrum disorder
- Experience of contributing to audit, service evaluation and service improvement
Knowledge
- Understanding of the legal responsibilities of the profession
- Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications for services
- Understanding of family/team dynamics and how to develop working relationships with all involved in the child’s care
- Understanding of the impact of mental health difficulties/hospitalisation on patients and their families
