Do you thrive in a busy office environment, work to a high standard, and can provide clear and accurate advice to colleagues? If so, then the post of Committee Manager may be just for you.

Within the highly respected Committee Services team of Democratic Services, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual responsible for servicing a range of committee meetings, panels, boards, and working groups. This includes agenda preparation, report writing, minute taking, and providing detailed procedural advice.

You will also offer advice and guidance to internal and external customers on all matters related to the democratic process. You need to be confident and capable of engaging effectively with senior officers, Councillors, and partners.

The team is responsible for administering major elections and referendums (such as general, local, and police & crime commissioner elections). Therefore, you will play a key role in organizing and running all aspects of elections, which may require working long and anti-social hours from time to time.

While knowledge and experience of local government procedures, the legal framework governing local government, and meeting servicing are important, we are also seeking a team player who can positively contribute to the wider Democratic Services team.
