Your new role at Sofology involves working closely with our Buying, Trade, Commercial Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure we have the right products, at the right time, in the right place. It is about planning, forecasting, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes, so our customers can enjoy the very best from us.
A day in the life of a Category Assistant includes:
- Using data from Commercial Finance, Power BI, and analytics teams to forecast product materials and improve supplier availability.
- Working with Central Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics to plan stock capacity and align buys to budgets.
- Ordering stock and store displays in line with key critical path dates.
- Managing the online swatch process, ensuring replenishments are in place when needed.
- Analysing pricing trends and using benchmarking data to stay ahead of the competition.
- Overseeing new range launches and stock buys, making sure everything lands on time.
- Preparing analytics and data for key meetings, including quarterly reviews, strategy sessions, and campaign planning.
In an ideal world, you will have the following experience:
- Experience in a category assistant or merchandising role, with strong commercial awareness.
- A natural with numbers - highly analytical, detail-focused, and confident working with data.
- Exceptionally organised, with great planning skills and a knack for keeping everything on track.
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, with the ability to build complex range plans and forecasts.
