Our Global Legal, Compliance and Regulatory (GLCR) team provides comprehensive legal advice to colleagues and functions across the organization – ensuring AIG navigates an ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape. The team has a multi-dimensional impact, from helping avoid legal exposure to collaborating with other functions to develop cutting-edge new products. AIG’s Global Specialty legal team is responsible for providing legal support for insurance legal matters for our Global Specialty lines of business, specifically Marine, Aviation, Energy, Construction, and Credit Lines.

You will report to the Global Head of Specialty Legal for AIG and will partner with the Specialty business units based in the UK as well as internationally. The role will provide comprehensive support for insurance legal matters and involve high-level advisory responsibilities, ensuring that legal operations align with business strategies and compliance requirements.

How you will create an impact:

  • Support the team in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for insurance products and services;
  • Assist with legal research and support on matters involving the Specialty business units;
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents, such as insurance policies, DUA, TOBAs, Facility Agreements, Claims Handling Agreements, and Binding Agreements;
  • Build legal knowledge and skills with the expectation of taking on increased responsibilities over time.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A qualified lawyer in good standing with a minimum 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably with a law firm or in-house legal team, with some exposure to insurance or financial services;
  • Basic understanding of insurance legal and regulatory issues;
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently with guidance and support;
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to tasks;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
