Your Impact
As an Automation Maintenance Engineer, you\’ll ensure critical automation systems operate at peak performance 24/7. Your role is vital in maintaining seamless delivery operations across the nation.
- Drive the success of a cutting-edge automated distribution facility
- Shape the future of warehouse automation technology
- Ensure the smooth operation of parcel sortation equipment
What You\’ll Do
- Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated machinery
- Engage in continuous improvement activities on automated equipment
- Support the Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader, and Engineering Team Coaches; complete shift reports, fault logs, and data entry
- Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions
- Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve outputs
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects from conception to implementation for machinery in the distribution centre
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals
- Work on a rotating shift pattern, including early, late, and night shifts
Technical Excellence
- Oversee complex automated systems including ASRS and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robotics) technology
- Implement maintenance strategies to maximize operational efficiency
- Carry out preventative maintenance while minimizing downtime
What You\’ll Bring
Essential Experience
- Electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (minimum Engineering/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience maintaining complex automation equipment
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
- Full UK driving license
- Adaptability and confidence to work independently and as part of a team
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of automation systems
- Experience in automated maintenance
