Job Title: Machine Minder / Operative

Kinetic Manchester is recruiting a Machine Minder / Operative to work for a large manufacturing company in Blackley.

Shift Patterns: 0600 – 1400 and 1400 – 2200, rotating weekly.

Company Background: With a history spanning over 120 years, this company is a world-class manufacturer producing infrastructure that supports daily life and work.

Note: A DBS check will be completed upon offer.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the line remains operational during the shift.
• Make minor machine adjustments to ensure equipment effectiveness.
• Maintain product quality.
• Identify manufacturing compliance issues.
• Operate production machinery according to SOP and Process Specification.
• Complete production documentation, including figures, downtime, and scrap.
• Carry out 5S duties.
• Conduct initial investigations to resolve process problems using techniques like data collection and SPC Chart analysis.
• Set up and start up the line safely and responsibly.
• Perform safety check-offs.
• Test reels/drums as per inspection schedule and record results.
• Update waste management and scrap records, disposing of scrap appropriately.

Candidate Requirements:

• Excellent practical manual skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
• Ability to work quickly and follow routine patterns.
• Awareness of health and safety regulations.
• Flexible, enthusiastic, and a team player.
• Ability to work rotating shifts: 0600 – 1400 & 1400 – 2200.

Benefits:

• £11.44 per hour for the first 12 weeks.
• Rate increase, meal allowance, and shift allowance after 13 weeks.
