Senior Software Engineer – Business Frameworks – Edinburgh

Job Description

Our Business Frameworks team develops core components of the Avaloq Banking Suite for global banking clients. Key focus areas include:

• Business Process Management: Enhancing internal banking processes for efficiency
• Object Framework: Managing banking data stored as objects in our database
• Rule Engines: Automating decision-making processes based on rules

We work closely with clients and partners to craft innovative solutions, operating with autonomy under agile methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Your Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team leads, architects, and engineers
• Design solutions and review them with technical leads
• Participate in client workshops and support requirements analysis
• Develop, maintain, and optimize functionalities
• Create automated tests to ensure quality
• Own your area of expertise and work within agile processes using Jira

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software development
• Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, Oracle PL/SQL)
• Proficiency in Java and frameworks
• Desire to learn and understand business needs
• Strong analytical skills and structured approach

Preferred Skills

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Interest in Rule Engines, DSLs
• Experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Git, Gradle, Jenkins
