Position: CAD Mechanical Designer – Electrical Sector: EV & Electrical Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid) Contract Inside IR35 *Applicants MUST have proof of immediate, ongoing and valid eligibility to work full-time in the UK and travel within the EU.* Job Description The role encapsulates the end-to-end design of the integration of electrical systems with regards to all Mechanical packaging Enclosures, brackets, housings, trucking Thermal mechanical – Cooling calcs, sizing of ducts heatsinks etc Batteries, cold plates, busbars, PCB mounting, Composite HV pack enclosures AV Mounting – Calculate and size bushings, define and manage testing and validation, development of tools and process Systems Engineering – Capturing and understanding the requirements, blue sky thinking, problem solving, electrical architecture, componentry selection, layout, and feasibility. Detail design – 3D CAD – Concept schemes, packaging 2D manufacturing – Drawings, build lists, BOM, supplier selection, costings, planning capture. Support – Physically validate the system, parts they have designed, support build, snag correction, fault investigation, easements, cost-downs, reworks instructions, reporting. CAD, 2D & 3D drawing data and design (UG NX) Qualifications / Skills required To have a clear understanding of CAD and UG NX systems at customer site. 1-3 yrs min experience in Mechanical design relating to Electrical systems, mounting and bracketry Break Out Box “BOB” design experience Folded Metalwork & Bracketry Composite manufacturing drawing experience Motorsport industry design experience Electrical/Electronic packaging experience Rapid prototyping design experience Why work through Contechs?
