Hybrid working is an option, although the focus of the post is working with partners and delivering activity on site.

Salary range - £27,711- £30,060 Band 4

Working Pattern 0.8 Part Time (equivalent to 4 days a week)

Temporary End Date 31/12/2027 in line with the project completion date for the Longford Park National Lottery Heritage Fund ‘People, Place and Nature’ project.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity to support the community engagement and volunteer activity in the Delivery Phase of the Longford Park ‘People, Place and Nature’ project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The post holder will work as part of a cross-service project team, taking responsibility for developing the volunteer programme alongside supporting current volunteer groups associated with the park and its activity. The role will help to enable and sustain people’s participation in the rich and varied heritage of Longford Park, framed by the Heritage Fund’s mandatory priority outcome: ‘a wider range of people will be involved in heritage’, and deliver against the projects’ volunteer participation targets.

About you

You will need to be well-organised, passionate and able to inspire a cross-sectoral range of groups and individuals across themes including heritage, culture, nature and green skills. This role requires experience of coordinating and supporting volunteers within a relevant setting, plus an ability to engage and communicate with a diverse range of groups and individuals effectively. You will bring experience of recruiting, supervising and supporting volunteers and community groups and coordinating volunteer activities. Plus, knowledge of best practice in managing and supporting volunteers, collating participant feedback, problem solving skills and a flexible, adaptable approach. Your style and approach will also reflect Trafford Council’s EPIC values and behaviour framework.
