Assistant Accountant

Hutcheon Mearns are supporting a fast-growing, innovative technology company in Dundee to recruit an Assistant Accountant. This newly created role sits within a small, supportive finance team (5) and reports to the Financial Controller. The position has been created due to international growth and the recent implementation of a new ERP system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Prepare VAT returns (UK & overseas) and reporting packs with variance analysis
• Support payroll processing (desirable), budgeting, and forecasting
• Contribute to cash flow forecasting and cost-saving initiatives
• Maintain supplier data and support compliance and audit processes
• Opportunity to get involved in R&D claims, system improvements, and cross-functional projects

Requirements:

• Solid grounding in accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills; Business Central/NAV experience is a bonus
• Great communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
