This role is working for a well-established, multi-site engineering business based in Liverpool. Specialising in electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering, the company provides comprehensive turnkey services for fault-finding, repair, and manufacture across a wide client base. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter/Engineer with strong expertise in repairing electrical rotating equipment to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dismantling and assessing a wide range of equipment including AC & DC motors, brake motors, gearboxes, pumps, and fan units
  • Performing static and dynamic testing
  • Testing and repairing transformers
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults
  • Re-assembling and testing equipment following repair
  • Working with voltages up to 415V (test voltages up to 2kV)
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Attending sites to test and analyse motors and generators using standard industry equipment to determine faults and required repairs
  • Experience with alternators and fault finding is desirable but not essential
  • Site work as required; a full UK driving licence is essential

Working Hours

  • 40 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
  • Late shift: One week in four, currently 14:00 - 22:00 (moving to 16:00 - 01:00)
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work during busy periods
  • Participation in an on-call out-of-hours rota, with enhanced pay
