We seek an experienced operator with entrepreneurial ambitions to lead a new venture as Cofounder & CTO with our backing.

The Opportunity

Italy is underinsured in home and renters insurance, despite its large life insurance market. The market needs modernization due to climate risks, housing mobility, and rising rebuilding costs.

77% of Italian consumers want to buy more insurance online. Generative AI is set to transform the industry, offering smarter, simpler insurance solutions.

We aim to build a digital-first, data-powered MGA to serve modern life, starting with young urban policyholders. Backed by Founders Factory, Tetto is creating a simpler, smarter, and affordable insurance platform.

We are looking for a technical co-founder to own the technology vision, architecture, and execution from MVP to scale.

The role

As Co-founder & CTO , you will work with the CEO to develop Tetto from concept to product-market fit. You will lead the design and build of our MVP, data infrastructure, and API architecture, supporting customer acquisition and underwriting.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring fast problem-solving and high-quality system building.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Own the technical roadmap, architecture, and execution
2. Build and launch the MVP using modern technologies
3. Design and manage data pipelines across various data sources
4. Develop Tetto’s API layer for integration into partner workflows
5. Collaborate on models for automated pricing and underwriting
6. Implement AI-powered claims handling and customer experience tools
7. Hire and lead the engineering team, shaping culture and standards
8. Work closely with product, insurance, and growth teams

What we’re looking for

1. Experience as a technical founder or engineering lead in startups or tech companies
2. Proven ability to ship MVPs quickly and iterate pragmatically
3. Deep understanding of API design and integration
4. Experience with data architecture and personalization
5. Fluency in full-stack development (e.g., Node.js, Python, React, PostgreSQL)
6. Interest or experience in insurance, fintech, or regulated markets
7. Bonus: AI/ML, IoT, geospatial data experience
8. Remote-friendly role, with potential relocation or travel to Milan
9. Italian language skills are a plus but not required
