This Maritime Assistant within the Maritime Team here at Carnival UK offers a unique blend of learning, growth, and hands-on experience in the heart of our maritime department. The Maritime Assistant team is responsible for delivering the necessary support functions to the Maritime team and wider Carnival UK team as required. The scope of the team’s responsibilities includes providing the support required to place contractors and visitors on board our ships during port calls.
Reporting to the Manager, Maritime Services, the Maritime Assistant role plays a vital role in ensuring that contractors can board our ships to complete their work on our ships as required. To do this they must ensure the relevant information about the visit and visitors is completed in both an accurate and efficient way. This includes the completion of the relevant legal and security checks for visitors.
This role is extremely admin focused. The candidate must possess exceptional attention to detail, as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines consistently.
Key accountabilities for Maritime Assistant include:
- Using business tools to organise contractor visits to our ships
- Work with the maritime team to ensure that visits can be undertaken on ships as required
- Providing administrational support to the department, including the arranging of any travel requests
- Participate in ARC meetings to ensure that visits to the ship are well understood and highlight any conflicts
This role is classified as CUK15 and is available on a full-time permanent basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
