This is an exciting opportunity for candidates wishing to undertake a fast-paced role within a supportive and sociable team. The post holder will be based within ARI Pharmacy with a rotation through various sections within pharmacy. No previous hospital experience is necessary as training will be provided in aseptic techniques, radiopharmacy, ward medicines management, dispensary services, procurement, and supply. This role involves a weekend rota and public holiday working.
Essential Requirements:
- Pharmacy Technician: Qualified with BTEC/NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent. Must be professionally registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Desirable: Willingness to train as an accredited checking technician.
- Student Technician: Minimum of 4 National 5 or O grades at level 2 or above, or equivalent, including Maths, English, Chemistry, and Biology.
If appointed as a Student Pharmacy Technician, the post will be offered under the terms of Annex 21, Agenda for Change, which includes specific pay and banding arrangements to support training completion.
Annex 21 Pay Scale:
- 1st Year - 70% of band 4
- 2nd Year - 75% of band 4
This training post offers pay based on a percentage of the Pay Band maximum point, with progression to Band 4 upon qualification and competency achievement. The exact percentage will be determined by training requirements and communicated in writing by the Line Manager.
