At Davonport Kitchen & Home, we take pride in crafting bespoke furniture of the highest quality. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant CNC Technician to join our skilled workshop team. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone keen to learn the craft of CNC machining while contributing to the production of our award-winning furniture. All our kitchen cabinets and furniture are custom-built and handmade in our Colchester workshops. As part of the team, you’ll gain hands-on experience working alongside our CNC Technicians, learning the processes involved in producing precision-cut components for our bespoke kitchens and furniture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the CNC Technician in operating and maintaining CNC machinery.
- Helping prepare and load materials for production.
- Learning to interpret technical drawings and production plans.
- Supporting routine maintenance tasks and troubleshooting basic machine issues.
- Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and well-organised.
- Contributing to the smooth running of the workshop and supporting the wider production team as required.
Skills & Qualities:
- A keen interest in learning CNC machining and furniture manufacturing.
- A practical, hands-on approach and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a workshop or production environment is helpful but not essential.
This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain valuable experience and develop their skills with a view to progressing into a CNC Technician position in the future.
Details:
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (07:00–16:30), Friday (07:00–15:15), excluding Bank Holidays.
- Location: Based in our workshop in Colchester – Peartree Road, CO3 0LQ.
- Reporting To: CNC Technician and Workshop Manager.
