Sales Manager – Handset Devices Business
Summary
Our client is a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions. The operation in the UK is over 20 strong and currently based in Berkshire. Our client has identified the need for an experienced Sales Manager to develop and sell devices including handsets, dongle, mifi, CPE etc into the UK operators. The relationships with Tier – one operators is strategically important, for the customers’ current and emerging handset needs.
Main Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Business Development
- Manage the day to day operational and business development relationship with the key retailers and distributors, in line with our clients values providing direction and support, and prioritizing activity in order to optimize business results and opportunities in the sales of Handsets. Achieve business development targets and budgets for all projects within the allocated customer domain. Preferably has a background with working with EE from a vendor side as well.
- Project and Resource Management
- Assist the Head of devices and MD in devising the sales plan based on market development for handsets. Manage sales staff expectations which is aligned to HQ and responsible for managing the daily activities. Promote the internal Marketing strategies and build local relationships and networks.
- Relationship Building and Networking
- Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with management levels in UK and China. Manage and co-ordinate work and activity of self and team (Commercial and Technical) to ensure alignment with common strategic objectives with the customers. Responsible for supporting the end-to-end implementation of our client's sales within the devices and handsets area.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Capture, record and report on key technical, demographic, environmental, market, economic and financial data / information, to support Head of devices and MD. Maintain the internal reporting framework and metrics to measure the success of business development opportunities with customers.
Essential Skills and Experience
- At least 6 years experience in the telecommunications industry
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of open channels and handsets market place
- Good contacts and network with the channel partners mainly focusing on key retailers including Argos, Currys and top distributors like Westcoast and Exertis
- Preferable previously worked for TCL/ALCATEL,and Xiaomi
- Good project management skills
- Proven track record of business development and account management within large organizations
- Pro-active customer focus
- Self motivated
- Target driven and result focused – with a track record of delivering against objectives and business development targets
- Excellent written reporting skills
- Excellent presentation skills
