This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in complex care and truly make a difference in the life of a wonderful young girl and her family. We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Complex Care Assistant to support a 6-year-old girl with complex medical needs and a busy daily routine. This is a fulfilling role within a warm and nurturing family home, complete with friendly pet dogs.
This little girl is non-mobile and non-verbal but communicates effectively using an eye gaze device. Your role will be to support her medical and social well-being, helping to create an environment where she can truly thrive as an individual.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Catheter care and bladder/bowel washouts
- Oral and nasal suctioning
- Oxygen saturation (SATs) monitoring
- Gastrostomy feeding and pH testing
- Assessing the need for oxygen therapy
- Administering nebulisers and performing physiotherapy percussion
- Using specialist equipment (e.g., standing frame, shower table, feeding chair, wheelchair, sleep system)
- Conducting therapeutic floor-based activities such as baby/child massage and baby/child gym exercises
Due to the client’s medical needs, wearing a facemask is required at all times while on duty to help minimise the risk of infection.
