Prospective officers and staff must be held to a higher standard of behaviour and accountability than members of the public, and that therefore their right to privacy can be fettered in certain circumstances. This is to ensure that members of the police are fully aware and accountable for the unique powers entrusted to them and the standards of professional behaviour they swear to uphold.

Role and Scope

To provide an efficient administration and technical service, including the maintenance of systems and processes; performance management; and the enhancement of partnership working.

Responsibilities

  • Disseminate and allocate information such as End of Custody Licence, Electronic Monitoring, Warrants, TAC Arrest Warrants, IDOM, Central email accounts, PINS, CONNECT, Unlawfully at large, Breach of DIP and ROB.
  • Support and guide Local Policing Area Offender Management Units.
  • Contribute to the Performance Management Framework and National Offender Management System Targets.
  • Be fully conversant and update relevant IT systems.
  • Assist in recording updates on systems like CONNECT, PIR, PNC for proactive deployment.
  • Research and merge duplicate records on all systems.
  • Promote and support the corporate rollout of Integrated Offender Management, supporting related policies and procedures.
  • Understand all IOM cohorts including SAC, DA, MAPPA, and Youth.
  • Research prison releases and ROTLs, preparing appropriate responses based on risk.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
  • Attend and participate in IOM meetings; take minutes where appropriate.
  • Manage external correspondence and act as Single Point of Contact for external agencies relevant to IDOM.
  • Process and coordinate curfew checks, prioritizing based on risk and harm.
  • Check systems like Common platform, Libra, and Xhibit for court case information on high-risk offenders.

Planning and Organising

The officer will plan and prioritise their work, managing their own time and responding to line manager requirements.

Contacts and Liaison

Maintain regular contact within West Midlands Police and externally, representing the force professionally and acting as a Single Point of Contact.

Analysis, Reporting and Documentation

Ensure all systems and processes are properly recorded, actioned, and disseminated.

Additional Information

Interviews are likely to take place during the week commencing 16th June (excluding 19th & 20th June). Applicants must pass Recruitment Vetting and Counter Terrorism Clearance, including background and financial checks. Appointment may depend on medical checks, including drugs and fitness tests. Current WMP staff in probation cannot apply for other roles unless exceptional circumstances apply, supported by their line manager.
