This is a field-based role mainly within Dorset and Wiltshire where you’ll be working alone and as part of a team.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Accounting for 100% of water supply on to each of our sites and identifying leakage events
- Carrying out reactive and proactive leak detection on MOD sites and monitor the leakage system and collecting data
- Recording relevant site data and feeding this information back to the demand management team
- Installing and maintaining flow and pressure data logging equipment
- Ensure that all relevant site data is captured through detailed on-site investigations
- Escalating areas of risk to the wider business such as water quality issues, supply risks or H&S concerns
What You’ll Bring:
- Knowledge of water supply configurations and hydraulics by using site plans and schematics
- Knowledge of specialist leakage detection equipment such as correlators, cat and genny, acoustic logging and ground-mics
- Extensive technical expertise in all methods used to account for consumption and leakage
- Knowledge of testing and inspecting fire hydrants and configuring pressure and flow loggers (training will be given)
- Good problem-solving, communication and mobile device IT skills
- The ability to build and develop strong relationships at all levels with both internal and external contacts
- A good understanding of health and safety within an industrial setting
- A commercial awareness to understand the cost impact on the business when making decisions
- You will be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
About you:
Due to the nature of sites on which we operate, the successful candidate must:
- Meet the security clearance requirements for the role which includes, but is not limited to, the successful candidate being a full-time resident of the UK for the past 5 years
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance which involves a Criminal Record Check and a full MoD Security Application and associated verification processes
- You must have a full, valid driving licence and be comfortable driving a van (company van provided)
