You will receive a paid holiday entitlement of 22 days per annum, plus 8 paid bank/public holidays per annum. Statutory Sick Pay Scheme, 3 months' probation, Life Assurance Scheme.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (It is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern alternating between days and nights) - Details on the shift rate will be given on application - Shift rates are equivalent to the offered salary.
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Biogas Site Operator to join our team at our anaerobic digestion (AD) facility located near Northampton and Rushden. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of the biogas plant, including feedstock handling, plant monitoring, maintenance support, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and monitor all aspects of the anaerobic digestion process, including CHP engines, gas upgrading systems, pumps, digesters, and control systems.
- Ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the plant in line with operational targets and environmental regulations.
- Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance tasks; report any faults or abnormalities.
- Manage feedstock deliveries and monitor feed rates.
- Take samples and carry out basic on-site lab tests (e.g., pH, TS/VS).
- Record and input operational data into plant management systems.
- Liaise with contractors, drivers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation.
- Support shutdowns, servicing, and other scheduled maintenance activities.
- Adhere to all site HSE policies, reporting near misses and ensuring good housekeeping at all times.
- Experience in biogas, anaerobic digestion, utilities, waste, or a similar process environment is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude; basic maintenance skills desirable.
- Competency in using SCADA systems or similar control/monitoring platforms.
- Ability to work independently and respond effectively to issues in a hands-on role.
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours rota for call-outs or alarms.
- A full UK driving licence is required due to the rural location of the site.
- IOSH or similar HSE qualification
- Forklift or telehandler licence
- Confined Space or First Aid training
