Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be supporting our client as they continue to make significant investment into their West Lothian site. As part of this ongoing development, we are seeking a Site Utilities Operator to take on a crucial, hands-on role at the heart of site operations – reporting directly to the Process Operations Leader.

This isn’t just a routine job β€” this is an opportunity to lead utilities performance on a flagship production site and play a key role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance on a 24/7 basis.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Operate and optimise key utilities including steam boilers, raw water treatment, CHP plant, effluent systems, compressed air, and cooling towers
  • Support the distillery to hit daily production targets through high-availability utilities
  • Lead shutdown maintenance plans and coordinate with the on-call engineering team
  • Take on an Authorised Person role – develop and apply safe systems of work (RAMS, isolations, PTWs)
  • Be a key player in CAPEX and continuous improvement projects across the site
  • Deliver world-class compliance, cost-efficiency, and operational performance

What We’re Looking For:

  • Confidence in mechanical/electrical fault finding and inspections
  • A strong health & safety mindset (LOTO, confined space, COSHH, RAMS)
  • IT/computer literate – comfortable with CMMS, Excel, and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • A proactive, adaptable team player with a drive for continuous improvement
  • BOAS accreditation or similar boiler training
  • Experience in distilling, brewing, FMCG, or COMAH environments
  • HNC or above in a technical/engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR is a bonus
