A worldwide Manufacturer of Domestic Gas & Oil Boilers is seeking a Gas Engineer to provide field technical support across the Central Scotland region, Monday to Friday.
The Role
Based from home, but working across the region, you will represent the company, supporting their boiler range. This includes providing technical support on the heating products to installers, service engineers, and sales staff. There is a clear focus on customer satisfaction along with a commercial awareness in providing breakdown service and technical support on the company’s heating products, whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Carry out breakdown and service visits to installers and end users throughout the allocated region.
- Support the Technical/Service help line for the sales team and customers, including daily & weekend phone call rota cover.
- Support the Sales Department by meeting installers, attending breakfast mornings and evenings, including trade presentations to enhance overall performance within the region.
- Supervise service agents, involving periodic visits to review their performance, checking adherence to standards and procedures, stock levels, and training needs.
- Identify & deliver training using various methods from PowerPoint to live demonstrations.
- Deal positively with customer complaints, resolving them speedily and cost-effectively while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Play a pro-active role in achieving personal and group objectives as part of a team.
- Effectively communicate ideas, views, and initiatives with team members and management.
Your Experience
You will be a Gas Engineer with a track record in Boiler Breakdown & Fault-Finding, looking to progress your career and share your knowledge & experience. You will be a self-motivated gas engineer, organised with good customer-facing skills and boiler breakdown/fault-finding ability. Product training will be provided to those who possess:
- Boiler Fault-Finding experience.
- ACS certified; Oil or LPG experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Able to build relationships & deliver training.
- Full UK Driving licence.
- Reside within the G, CA, DG, EH, FK, KA, ML, PA, TD postcode areas.

Remuneration & Benefits
Monday to Friday. A package of circa £40,000 based on circa £37,000 basic + extra payments for providing ad-hoc weekend technical support to service partners. Ad hoc Tech Support via phone 1 in 8 weekends & one Bank Holiday. Company Van (private use option). Laptop, Tablet & Phone. 22 days holiday + Stats (increasing by 1 day a year after 2 years service). Company Pension (after successful probation). Private Health Insurance (after 2 years of service). Bonus.
