This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and driven property professional to join an ambitious borough council with a reputation for delivering effective projects that improve the lives of our rapidly growing and diversifying population.
Leading a small, skilled team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Council's property assets are maintained, developed, and fit for purpose for the Council and its customers. The Council owns a diverse property portfolio that is key to delivering services, providing valuable community spaces, and generating income.
The successful applicant will be organized and efficient in overseeing team workflows and harnessing the complementary skills within the team to deliver an effective corporate property service. You will be comfortable offering strategic property advice at the inception of potential projects as well as managing everyday budget and procurement processes.
You will be responsible and accountable for the Council's asset management policies and functions and will champion the Council's interests as landowner. The Property Services Manager sits on the Council's Extended Management Team and is expected to take a senior role in service planning, corporate governance, and corporate projects. You will lead by example in the positive behaviours encouraged at Dartford Borough Council.
This post is considered by DBC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
