This position is a Maintenance Technician in an egg production and processing facility. The purpose of this role is to complete minor to major equipment repairs during non-production and production times of the day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts for repairs.
  • Maintain food processing equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, such as inspecting motors, bearings, belts, fluid levels, and replacing filters.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical wiring, and installation of new equipment and parts.
  • Document all maintenance performed, including preventative maintenance.
  • Identify required parts and notify supervisors.
  • Ensure facility supervisors are notified before undertaking maintenance or repairs in food handling areas.
  • Remove tools and debris after maintenance activities and notify personnel to ensure hygiene and sanitation before operations resume.
Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintenance certification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Previous maintenance experience required; experience in Food Manufacturing or Processing is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of safety programs such as Confined Space, LOTO, Hazcom, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to diagnose operating errors and resolve issues.
  • Ability to identify complex problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions.
  • Strong knowledge in Pneumatics and Power Transmission.
Physical Demands
  • Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop; lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, water, chemicals; temperature-controlled environment with cooler areas; moderate noise level; use of PPE required; adherence to GMPs necessary due to food manufacturing setting.
